Alex Smolyar, seemed very happy to earn a drive with the Dutch team for 2022 after fighting them hard on track in previous season the Russian driver is looking forward to being on the same team as them and using their resources.
“I’m delighted to team up with MP Motorsport for another season in FIA F3. Last year, I fought many duels with MP’s cars as they challenged for the podium finishes that I was aiming to achieve as well, and now we’re together, hoping to take as many wins as we possibly can.”
Now the deal has been announced, it is time to get to work, to ensure both team and driver are ready for the up and coming season, which will be necessary if they are to have the season they hope for.
“We’ll be preparing ourselves to the maximum before we hit the road for testing and the first round in Bahrain.”
MP Motorsport team principal Sander Dorsman is delighted to have got the signature of a driver who arguably might have deserved a drive in FIA Formula 2, compared to others who have received a promotion and knows the knowledge and experience of FIA Formula 3 that Smolyar brings is going to be a fantastic helping help for the season and will undoubtedly be a big advantage.
“It’s great news that Alex and SMP Racing have put their faith in MP for this year’s FIA F3 Championship, Alex is arguably one of the best drivers to stay in the category for another season, and his vast knowledge of the car and the circuits will serve us well as we look forward to a strong season.”
