Former Renault UK Clio Cup vice-champion Lee Pattison will make a return to the championship this weekend at Knockhill with Team Cooksport.
Pattison has been a regular in the championship since 2008, competing in 95 races over the last seven years with a total of fourteen podium finishes to his name, including four wins.
The 41 year old completed the majority of the season last year, taking podium finishes at Thruxton and Oulton Park en-route to a top ten championship finish, with his last win coming at Thruxton in 2013.
“It feels great to be back, even if it is only a one-off. Knockhill is a circuit I get on very well with,” said Pattison, who took a double podium finish in the Clios at Knockhill in 2010, the year he finished second in the championship.
“The Clio Cup is certainly very competitive, but I’m still going there this weekend aiming for a couple of top five finishes.”
Pattison joins George Jackson and Rory Collingbourne in the Cooksport ranks for the trip north of the border, filling the gap left by Charlie Ladell who moved back to WDE Motorsport earlier in the summer break.
“It’s great to have Lee racing for Team Cooksport. He has a lot of experience being a multiple race winner,” said team principal and reigning Clio vice-champion Josh Cook.
“Lee was my team mate in the 2013 Clio Cup and we worked really well together. I am looking forward to working alongside him again – he is definitely one to watch.”
