Super Nova Racing have confirmed that American Jake Rosenzweig will join the team for the final 2 weekends in this seasons GP2 Asia series.
20 year old Rosenzweig, who is only in his third year of single seater racing after a very successful career in karting, is no stranger to the team, having tested for them at Paul Ricard in November 2009, and impressed the team, and Team Principle David Sears said: “We are very pleased to welcome Jake into the Super Nova team. I have followed his career in Europe over the past couple of years and have been very impressed by the rate of progress that Jake has shown us. This was demonstrated when he drove our GP2 main series car last year and showed a great deal of talent, as well as a mature engineering approach. I have no doubts that once Jake has got used to the GP2 Asia car he will be fighting at the sharp end of the grid.”
Jake has shown his pedigree in his racing performances, and took a podium finish during his maiden F3 Euroseries campaign, and showed impressive speed in his guest outings in the Porsche Carerra Cup GB.
The team believe that Jake is the driver to secure their top 3 Championship position, and are looking to bounce back from a bad weekend last time out, at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Jake, who will pilot the number 14 Super Nova GP2 Asia car in the final two rounds at Bahrain has this to say about the deal: “I'm very, very excited to have signed for a team with the pedigree of Super Nova and I am very much looking forward to driving the car this weekend in Bahrain, which will be my first experience of the GP2 race weekend format. I aim to learn quickly and be in with a chance of scoring points this weekend, enabling me to be in an even stronger position for the final race of the championship.”
