YRC confirms tie up with JHR for 2010 Clio Campaign

1 Mins read

The fans funded YourRaceCar.com has today confirmed that they are to join forces with the JHR Developments team for the 2010 Elf Renault Clio Cup.

The news that Fulvio Mussi is joining the Clio grid after a 5 year absence is a welcome piece of news for the series, who have struggled for entries this year. Mussi is the 13th driver to register for the Championship.

Mussi will face something of an uphill battle when he takes to the track this weekend, the opening rounds of the season. He hasn't had a chance to test the car, and having spent the whole of the 2009 season in a Rear Wheel Drive G50, will need time to adjust to racing a Front Wheel Drive Clio.

The team are one of the most experienced in the paddock, and Mussi has raced with JHR Developments before, so he knows that they are a very capable outfit, and he said this about joining them: “JHR are a brilliant outfit and I've raced with them before so I know the guys which helps a lot. They're really keen on the whole YRC operation and they know it involves a lot more input from the team than with other drivers sponsors so we're really pleased that they're up for it! This weekend's going to be a challenge for everyone, even the spectators by the looks of the weather!”

Apart from the Clio which JHR will run for Mussi, they also have cars entered in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and the Ginetta Junior Championship. They will be kept busy during the season.

The opening races of the 20 race campaign take place this weekend at Thruxton, Hampshire, with the 40 minute race starting at 16.15 on Saturday, with the 30 minute race being shown live on ITV at 12.50 Sunday.
