Josh Grant took his first Gold during the Moto X Super X Men’s Finals last night as X Games 16 got in to the swing of things at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
It was down to another Josh to lead the way in the early stages as former Gold medallist Josh Hansen lead Grant for the first 11 laps.
Despite the early lead pulled out by Hansen, Grant would close back in on him with consistant, smooth transitions and eventually pass him.
“I feel great, this is a great feeling. It’s right up there with my win in Anaheim,” Grant said. “It was a close race but to come away with the win is great. The atmosphere and the people are fantastic here at the X Games. If I wasn’t competing, I would still be here.”
Hansen would drop back another place after Justin Brayton made his move to take Silver, leaving Hansen (who’s father won the World Championship medal at the Coliseum in 1982) to collect Bronze.
