Cam Sinclair will be looking to fulfill his childhood dream of winning an X Games medal this Friday in Los Angeles, California.
Sinclair missed out on the chance to compete last year after crashing heavily whilst competing in the Red Bull X Fighters competition in Madrid, Spain.
The accident happened after Sinclair under rotated while pulling off his signature trick the ‘double backflip’. The Australian suffered a ruptured liver, severe head injuries and multiple broken bones.
Now following an intensive rehabilitation programme the 25 year old is determined to get back on track and land the trick that put him out of action, becoming only the second person in the world to land the trick at the X Games.
“My dream to win an X Games medal is what motivated me the most to go to rehab day in and day out, to get back on the bike after Madrid. Now this weekend I'll finally get my chance. I have been thinking about this moment for a long time, I just can't wait to get out there.” Cam Sinclair said.
Although Sinclair is hoping to secure a medal this Friday he admits that it isn’t going to be an easy task.
“The X Games is as good as it gets for action sports in the world. To be selected out of only 8 in the world is a huge achievement for me after everything I've been through; but I'm going to give it everything I've got. I'd love to be able to ad trick combos to the double flip; but it will all depend on how I'm feeling on Friday and if I can lay it on the line, we'll see what happens.”
