Postive Knockhill Weekend for Team Parker Racing

1 Mins read

Adam Bonham led the way in an encouraging weekend for Ginetta Junior outfit Team Parker Racing at Knockhill. Bonham picked up the team's best results with a pair of top six finishes on the road at the tricky and unique Scottish circuit.

16 year old Bonham secured the fourth best time in qualifying, and headed into the weekends races hoping to replicate his podium finish from last time out at Silverstone. He was in the podium places during Saturday's Round 15, but lost time in an accident and recovered to sixth place. In Sunday's Round 16, Bonham was part of a four car train fighting for the lead, but after a personal mistake and contact by a rival, he had to recover to finish fourth place on the road. Unfortunately, he was later excluded from the results after his brake lights were damaged due to the contact.

Team Parker Racing's other driver this weekend was Finlay Ractliffe, who was making his first ever appearance at the Scottish circuit. The 14 year old adapted well to the undulating track, driving solidly in both races to finish seventeenth and sixteenth, with his best lap time in Round 15 within a second of the fastest lap of the race.

Despite Bonham's exclusion, the team came away from the Knockhill weekend in positive mood, with driver coach Danny Buxton saying: “Adam has been massively upping his game lately and taking his racing very seriously. He's really taking everything in and grasping it, and for a time in Sunday's race he had the fastest lap. Finlay again made progress and off the grid he made up four places – he made a mistake but he's on a big learning curve and he will progress.

“This weekend we've been really up at the front pacewise with Adam and he's really delivered, so what we're looking for is a strong end to the year to get his confidence up.”

Next up for the Team Parker Racing team is a trip to their local circuit Donnington Park in two weeks time for the penultimate meeting of the 2010 Ginetta Junior Championship.
