TCF Blog: Will Bratt – End Of The Season

2 Mins read

Hi everybody

Overall my F2 season was less than what I had hoped for. Looking back on it now I had an unlucky year with a number of on-track incidents taking me out of good points scoring positions – some of the F2 drivers often seemed to lack any sort of awareness of what was going on around them.

The clutch going down at Monza was about the only time I had any sort of mechanical issue and we were unfortunate that it happened when I was fighting for a win. Overall I felt we deserved the third in the championship.

But rant over, I ended the year as second rookie and took a heap of podiums and a fastest lap, so decent job. I'm now more hungry than before to come out next year in whatever series we settle with and start winning races and setting the pace.

Options for 2011 are open at the minute and we're out of money, which sounds like the usual story before a new season of racing. GP2 is the place to be seen but is getting more out of reach for those of us without huge budgets available every year.

Let's see what we can put together though, last year I was able to do the Main Series tests at Ricard and got the Coloni car up to fourth quickest overall – I know I've got the speed to win in the big cars so let's hope I get the chance to show it. I've got a potential investor for 2011 so we'll hopefully have whatever he's able to bring to the party along with what else we can secure in time.

Off track, I'll be getting a winter job or something to bring in a bit of money, but that's boring so won't say anything more on that. My guitar playing has suddenly taken a step forwards in the last week or so. It tends to do that – like many things you'll be working at it and getting no better until one day you wake up and you're just better.

Over last few days I've breezed through a couple of Satriani songs I could only just manage a few months ago. Working on a Guns 'n' Roses song called Locomotive right now too which is good fun to jam through. I've come up with some more of my own stuff recently as well, no full songs though, just shorter sections that I haven't figured out how to expand into full pieces yet.

So all's okay in my world, could just do with getting hold of some sponsorship so we've got a full budget ready for next season now.

Will
