Nissan Enter ILMC And Le Mans With Signature Move

1 Mins read

Nissan has entered into a two year official partnership with French team Signature Racing that will bring the two together for a campaign in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) and a two car effort of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

The deal sees Nissan provide Signature with NISMO tuned engines for their ORECA 03 LMP2 cars.

“Nissan is very happy to announce our new partnership with Signature and we look forward to working with such a professional and well respected team,” said Vincent Wijnen, Nissan VP of Strategy and Marketing. “I know our customers, fans and dealers will be following our progress when we start racing in March and will of course be anticipating our return to the Le Mans 24 hours.”

The team will run as SignaTech Nissan, with former F3 front runner Franck Mailleux leading the team in the first race of the ILMC season at the 12 Hours of Sebring next month. Former F1 and WTCC driver Tiago Montiero is the other named driver for the Le Mans entry.

Full details of the team's driving squad and racing livery will be released in the coming weeks.

“We are delighted to team-up with such an innovative car manufacturer,” said Philippe Sinault, CEO of Signature Group. “Nissan's engine know how will be crucial to the overall performance of the car, and we are sure this partnership will be hugely successful.”
