Trio Ready To Kick Off Relentless Test

1 Mins read

Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing kick-off their 2011 pre-season testing programme at Spain's Cartagena circuit next month.

The team based in Northern Ireland are set to embark on a four-day test at the track with riders Josh Brookes, Alastair Seeley and Guy Martin due to rack up valuable mileage. The test is due to begin on March 3.

Phillip Neil's squad will once again fight on three fronts this season. Talented Australian Brookes will do battle in the British Superbike Championship for a third season, after two years at HM Plant Honda. Seeley will compete in the British Supersport Championship, while road specialist Martin focuses his attentions on International Road Racing events.

Following his move from Honda to Suzuki, Brookes has be adjusting to a road going version of the bike in Australia, but is eager to ride his new BSB challenger.

“I’m now looking forward to meeting all the guys in my new team and getting to know them before the season starts”, said Brookes. “I hear quite a few of them are into Mountain Biking and Motocross so that should be fun. We can have a laugh and hang out together.”

“After riding different machinery for so long, I’m surprised just how quick the Suzuki felt so natural to me, I did feel at home on it straight away. It was technically a street bike, but it gave me the chance to set up things like footrest and handlebar positioning before Spain. I’m more driven than I have ever been for a season after a spending time at home doing different activities every day to keep myself focussed. I’ve never been so fit.”

Team manager Neil echoes Brookes' enthusiasm to commence pre-season testing.

He said: “I think everyone in the team is looking forward to getting stuck in this season and it will be nice to have all the guys out in Spain together.”
