Romain Grosjean can wrap up the GP2 Series title at the penultimate round of the season at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.
The Frenchman needs a lead of 21 points at end of the weekend to claim the title ahead of the season finale at Monza. His points lead currently stands at 25 points, with Giedo van der Garde his nearest rival. 16 points over the duration of the weekend will be enough to put himself out of reach, regardless of the Dutchman's results. To win the title in Saturday's feature race he will need to extend his lead to 28 points.
While the title race may be as good as over, the battle for victory in the two races will be as fierce as ever. Van der Garde is still chasing his first win of the main season, while Addax teammate Charles Pic has already won twice and is just seven points behind in the standings.
Having recovered from his dreadful start to the season Jules Bianchi is up to fourth in the points, tied with Sam Bird. The Briton has been unable to maintain his fine start to the season that saw him tied for the lead of the standings after both of the first two weekends. Luca Filippi will no doubt be amongst the contenders as he continues with Coloni.
There is one driver change for this weekend, with Brendon Hartley replacing Kevin Mirocha at Ocean Racing Technology. The team is still chasing its first points finish this season. Meanwhile at Carlin, Mikhail Aleshin continues in the team's second car in place of Alvaro Parente.
Practice takes place at 10.55 on Friday, ahead of qualifying at 14.55. The feature race is at 14.40 on Saturday with the sprint race at 9.30 on Sunday morning. (All times BST)
