Jenzer Motorsport have called upon 48-year-old Swiss driver Christophe Hurni to fill one of their seats for this weekend's GP3 Series season finale at Monza.
Alex Fontana, 19, had raced the team's no.9 entry at the previous round at Spa-Francorchamps, finishing in sixth place in the second race. However, he is unable to race this weekend due to a previous commitment testing for the team that he races for in the European F3 Open, in which he currently leads the standings.
Hurni's international racing over recent years is limited to a handful of appearances in the Swiss Formula Renault championship. His record can be traced back as far as a 1987 entry into the European Formula 3 Cup.
On their Twitter account @InfoJenzer, the team wrote: “Jenzer’s new driver entry at monza is Christophe Hurni, a 48 year old swiss driver with tones (sic) of experience. Watch out young guns.”
