DAMS And Epic Announce FR3.5 Partnership

In view of a possible entry into Formula Renault 3.5 series next year the DAMS team has agreed a partnership with Spanish outift Epic Racing for the end of season tests in Catalunya and Motorland, Aragon.

Ahead of the introduction of a new car for next season as well as DAMS potential arrival in the category, the French team will test new drivers in the Epic cars prior to running solely in the championship next season.

Indonesian driver Rio Haryanto, just 18 and running in Auto GP as well as GP3 this year, will driver for both days in Barcelona while the second car will be shared between Swiss driver Nico Muller, who was fourth in GP3 this season and Cesar Ramos, the Brazilian who ran in FR3.5 in 2011 finishing 11th in the championship with three podiums,

DAMS general manager Loic David said:“We’re very happy with our partnership with EPIC. This team had a great three days at the WSR final here in Barcelona this weekend, as well as a very good championship with Albert Costa finishing fourth overall in the general classification. We hope that we’ll enter for the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 Series, and this partnership gives us the opportunity to test some drivers for next season with the help of EPIC’s technical back-up.”

Epic Racing manager Claudio Corradini added: EPIC team manager: “I can’t wait to put this synergy with DAMS into operation. I hope that at the end of this brief partnership we’ll be in a better position to tackle the 2012 season.”
