Dean Stoneman will make his return to motorsport when he takes part in next week’s Formula Renault 3.5 Series test at Motorland Aragon.

The 2010 FIA Formula Two Champion had signed to race for the ISR squad in FR3.5 in 2011, before he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in January.

After taking the year out to recover from his major surgery, the Southampton racer will test for the same Czech outfit on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Spanish circuit, as he evaluates his plans for 2012.

“We are obviously delighted that Dean will return for the test with ISR ,” said Stoneman's manager Stephen Noakes.

“Since his operation Dean has been slowly recovering and working on his fitness and he now feels the time is now right to get back into the car and use the test as part of his rehabilitation for 2012.   ISR have been tremendous in keeping the door open for Dean this year and we thank them for their amazing support during a very testing year.”
