After a strong season in single seaters, Archie Hamilton is preparing for the next step of his career as he heads into GT racing permanently, starting with a trip to Dubai next week for the NGK UAE GT Championship race at the Dubai Autodrome.

20 year old Hamilton will be joining Stuart Hall in a Gulf Racing entered Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 and will experience the track for the first time in Thursday testing, ahead of the one hour race on Sunday.

Hamilton commented: “I received this last minute call up thanks to my sponsors, Delaney. Although I have not raced the car before, I did test it a couple of months ago in Magny Cours and put in some quick lap times. I am looking forward to the race which will be a good preparation for me as I shall be racing in the 24 hour race there in January.

“I have achieved all I can in single-seaters and am now ready for the next step on my career ladder. I shall be moving to sports cars full time for the 2012 season, and this is something I am very excited about.”

After the UAE GT Championship race, Hamilton will return to Dubai for the Dunlop 24 Hours of Dubai event on 12th/13th/14th January 2012.
