Former Legends racer Simon Belcher is preparing for his first full season in the AirAsia Renault Clio Cup after recently signing up with frontrunning outfit Team Pyro for the upcoming campaign.
Belcher, who made two guest appearances in the tin-top series in 2011, will contest all eight rounds in 2012 in his Karcher backed Clio. Belcher's own team Handy Motorsport will work alongside Pyro, Handy looking after the corporate and promotional work while Pyro runs the car.
Belcher will be mentored by his own driver coach, 2010 Clio Cup Champion Dave Newsham, as well as Pyro's team driver coach, 2009 Champion Phil Glew.
Belcher, who's car will be unveiled at the Autosport Show this weekend, said: “It is great to be working with Pyro, these guys have won the championship three out of the last four years and are very professional, it is also great to have a mentor in the form of Dave Newsham who comes from the same racing background as me, I have a lot to learn but I am really looking forward to the challenge”
