Auto GP champion Kevin Ceccon will finally get a chance to run in this week's opening pre-season GP2 test at Jerez when he runs on the final day for the Ocean Racing Technology team tomorrow.
The 18-year-old Italian driver has thus far failed to secure a full-time graduation to the series, after missing out on a drive at the Coloni team, for whom he raced part-time last year and impressed with at the non-championship race at Abu Dhabi last November. He also tested for Toro Rosso in the F1 young driver test.
He flew out to Jerez hoping to find a seat available to run during the test. Ceccon will replace Frenchman Tom Dillmann, who has also struggled to secure a seat despite an impressive podium result on his debut in Abu Dhabi.
UPDATE: Dillmann will be in action for Rapax tomorrow, in place of Daniel De Jong.
