Lucas Foresti will compete in Formula Renault 3.5 for new entrants DAMS to complete their line up for 2012.

The Brazilian, who had competed in British F3 for the past two seasons, will be partnered alongside the already confirmed Arthur Pic. Foresti took three wins and seven podiums in the previous campaign, finishing seventh overall in the championship. He also has a GP3 podium to his name, which came in Barcelona in 2012, and has won the Brazilian F3 Open for the past two seasons.

“I’d like to thank DAMS and Mr. Driot for giving me this chance to be part of a great team,” said Foresti. “I’m very proud of it and I’ve also got great confidence in the fact that our collaboration will prove to be a fruitful one.”

“I hope we’ll have the opportunity to show our speed and our professionalism. I’m convinced that I’ll learn a lot, make significant progress and that we’ll scale the heights together!”

Jean-Paul Driot, CEO of the DAMS team, hopes Foresti will become an integral part of the French outfit's FR3.5 challenge

“Welcoming promising young drivers like Lucas Foresti to DAMS is always a pleasure. “Our team has trained a large number of them for over twenty years and twenty-four have graduated to Formula 1.”

“Our aim with Lucas, who we are delighted to have with us, is no different, and we hope that his performance will be in keeping with the level of our joint ambitions.”
