Scuderia Vittoria have snapped up three Scottish racers for their expanded assault on the 2012 AirAsia Renault Clio Cup UK.
The team, which only formed last year, are looking to run up to six cars in the upcoming campaign and have filled half their seats already thanks to backing from One Call Insurance. Vic Covey Jr, Finlay Crocker and Ronnie Klos have joined the team, all three being graduates from the Scottish Mini Challenge. The trio will enjoy their first test at Brands Hatch next week.
Scuderia Vittoria’s co-team principal and former Clio champion Danny Buxton commented: “We've just taken delivery of three new cars. They're being prepared at the moment at our workshop, in the premises of top BTCC team WSR, and we can't wait to get started.
“Coming from Minis, the guys need to get used to slick tyres but even so I think we're going to surprise a few people. We've got a good testing programme lined up and combined with Scuderia Vittoria's coaching we can hopefully help all three drivers compete at a strong level. That's definitely been helped by linking up with One Call – it's fantastic to get backing from a nationwide company.”
