Archie Hamilton is to race for the championship winning Autorlando Sport team in this year's International GT Open.
Hamilton will share a GTS class Porsche 997 GT3 R with a second driver who is yet to be confirmed for Orlando Redolfi's Milan based team. The team won the Le Mans Series in 2006 and GT Open the following year. Last season ended with second place in the GTS-class championship in GT Open after also being front runners in the Blancpain Endurance Series.
“I’m very excited to be starting my first full season in endurance racing,” said Archie. “I looked at other series but the GT Open offered great track time and a good quality of teams and competition. Everything just felt right when I went to Milan this week and met the team, who made me feel very welcome and I’m really looking forward to getting started on Tuesday at Imola. I couldn’t be doing this without the support Delaney and Duncan Hamilton Ltd to whom I’m very grateful. I will do my best to get wins and podiums to show that the faith in my ability is justified.”
Mahilton will get his first turn behind the wheel of his new charge next week at a private test at Imola, starting preparations for the season which begins on April 29 at Portimoa. The championship visits Brands Hatch in July, supporting the FIA Formula Two Championship on July 14-15.
