Jenzer Motorsport have confirmed that Patric Niederhauser will race for them in GP3 this year.

The 20-year-old Swiss driver won the Italian Formula Abarth title last year, racing for Jenzer. He also finished runner-up in the European series. The year before he had been runner-up in the Italian series in his rookie season in car racing.

He has since been testing for them in GP3, both in the post-season tests in Spain at the end of last year and in Estoril last week.

Niederhauser joins fellow Formula Abarth graduate Robert Visoiu of Romainia in the Jenzer lineup for the coming season.

The identity of the third driver has yet to be announced, but the teenage champion of the Chinese Formula Pilota series Matheo Tuscher was in action for them in Estoril and impressed on what was his GP3 debut.

The GP3 Series season beings at the Circuit de Catalunya in support of the Spanish Grand Prix on 11-13 May, with pre-season tests at Barcelona and Silverstone before then.
