Adam Gould has confirmed he will make it onto the grid at Donington Park for his second weekend of car racing in the AirAsia Renault Clio Cup UK.
The former rally ace was involved in the big second race pile up at Brands Hatch and his participation at Donington was a doubt after extensive damage to his Clio. Great work by the Stancombe Vehicle Engineering team has seen the car repaired though, allowing Gould to take part in the test day on Thursday ahead of the weekend.
Gould said: “It was so tight getting to Donington. After the damage caused in the Brands Hatch pile-up, the car was only just repaired in time for the test day on Thursday”.
“The test was tricky, it rained in the second session and parts of the track were quite slippery; this made learning the circuit for the first time even more difficult, but we were happy with the times for a first shot. At every track we go to this season theres so much to learn, but luckily Paul is able to offer great tuition and help speed up my progress”
“I’m praying for a clean weekend of racing, and not another repeat of the Brands carnage. I need as much race experience as possible, and thats not going to happen when I’m part of the armco..”
