BTCC Boss Hollamby To Make VW Racing Cup Return

1 Mins read

Shaun Hollamby is set to return to the APR Volkswagen Racing Cup grid in a Golf GTI this weekend as the series supports the DTM at Brands Hatch.

The 46-year-old has a good record at his local circuit after winning twice in a Beetle in 2003 and twice again in a Golf R32 in 2005.

“I don't think I'll be repeating that success this time,” admitted Hollamby, boss of the AmD Tuning firm. “In fact the Golf [which belongs to joint championship leader Aaron Mason] is completely rebuilt and won't have turned a wheel until qualifying. But I am really looking forward to it; it will be fun and I love Brands. This is very much a one-off appearance because I am too busy with the BTCC.”

This year Hollamby has been concentrating on running the AmDTuning.com team who field Ollie Jackson in a Golf GTI for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Mark Jenkins also joins the grid as a late entry giving the SlideSports new Mk VI Golf GTI its race debut.
