Lotus GP drivers Esteban Gutierrez and James Calado have both received ten-place grid penalties for the next round of the GP2 Series at Hockenheim.

The duo lie third and fourth in the standings after Silverstone, 43 and 70 points respectively away from leader Luiz Razia.

Gutierrez, who won the feature race on Saturday, was penalised for his last lap collision with Johnny Cecotto in the sprint race.

Gutierrez ran wide at Stowe and as he rejoined the track he lost control on the wet astroturf, causing him to collide with Cecotto and take him out of the race.

Gutierrez was found guilty of rejoining the track in an unsafe manner. He keeps his fourth place finish.

Calado was given his penalty for causing a race-ending collision for both himself and Max Chilton.

While fighting over eighth at the end of the sprint race, Calado lost control of his car trying to make a brave pass at Maggots.

The stewards found Calado to be guilty of causing the collision.
