Hour Seven of the 2012 Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone was largely uneventful as the teams and drivers bedded in for the night shift.

The hour started off the back of the first and only safety car of the race so far, a safety car that was deployed under mysterious circumstances. The major news of the hour was at the top of the order, after the #17 Strata 21 Motorsport Mosler pitted with driveshaft issues. The car was in the garage for a total of 18 minutes before rejoining the track, but by this time they had lost the lead to the Team LNT Ginetta.

During the hour a number of cars were blacked flagged for ‘excessive noise’. These included the #76 Honda Jazz of Synchro Motorsport, the #65 Intersport Racing BMW and the Class 3 leading #52 Chevron.

In Class 2, the #28 MP Motorsport BMW leads the way ahead of the #51 Optimum Motorsport Ginetta G50 and the #35 TopCats Racing Marcos.

Despite it’s black flag, the #52 Chevron continued to lead Class 3 at the end of hour seven, ahead of the #60 Perfection Racing EU Aston Martin and the #98 MMC Motorsport Seat Leon.

It’s close in Class 4 with the top three all on the same lap. The #79 Brunswick Auto BMW currently leads the class, despite taking to the pit lane only 10 laps into a stint. Whatever the reason, the car was quickly turned around and rejoined the race still in the class lead, albeit a rather depleted lead. Chasing the #79 is the #78 Piranha Motorsport Ginetta G40 and the #75 RedCamel Seat.
