2013 Provisional Britcar Calendars Released

1 Mins read

Organisers have revealed the provisional calendars for next year’s Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship (BEC) and Britcar Production Cup.

As with this year the series – split into two separate entities for this season – share most of their dates for 2013. The only differences in the two calendars lie in two fixtures in the summer, the Production Cup scheduled for a July 21 date at Thruxton while the BEC currently has a TBA event on July 26-28, leaving the space open for a return to the continent after an all UK 2012 season.

The Production Cup Championship will also share its dates with the new Britcar Production Sportscars Series, envisioned by Britcar director James Tucker as an entry series into GT racing.

The calendar also includes dates for the Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone, on September 20-22.

The eight date season starts at Donington Park on April 13 – a later start than recent seasons before the first of two trips to Silverstone, with a race on the new International Circuit, raced around the south of the new Grand Prix track based in the new Wing pit building.

The calendar includes two races after the 24 Hours, at Donington Park, then the Brands Hatch Indy circuit – the final race of the year the only visit to the Kent venue.

In that respect the 2013 season will match this year’s schedule with the BEC season – at least in respect to points paying races – coming to an end at Donington Park on November 3. The Checkered Flag will have full coverage of this event as the championship is decided between the Bullrun squad of Martin Byford, David Green and Richard Adams and the Strata 21/Neil Garner Motorsport crew comprised of Manuel Cintrano, Javier Morcillo and Paul White.
