Massot And Robertson On Top In Finale Qualifying

1 Mins read

Pepe Massot and Charlie Robertson shared the spoils in qualifying for the final rounds of the 2012 Ginetta Junior Championship at Brands Hatch.

Spaniard Massot was the first driver to break the 1min 45s barrier and he kept going quicker throughout the session to assure himself pole position for the opening race, through championship leader Robertson was able to snatch pole for race two away from him, Massot forced to settle for second.

Robertson was forced to fight back after a time lost due to exceeding track limits left him bottom of the timesheets with half the session to go, the Scotsman bouncing back take third for race one to add to his race two pole, putting him ahead of his title rivals for both races.

Snatching the front-row away from Robertson for race one was Andrew Watson, the first-time winner from Silverstone adding a fourth in race two, with his Douglas Motorsport team-mate and fellow Irishman Niall Murray taking fourth and third.

Ollie Chadwick took fifth ahead of his JHR Developments team-mate Sennan Fielding for both, with Harry Woodhead seventh for the two. Oliver Basey-Fisher and William Palmer took an eighth and ninth apiece, with Keith Donegan completing the top ten on both grids.
