Brumos Racing Have revealed the four men who will drive the team’s familiar #59 Porsche at next month’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Though the four men in the car will be tasked with improving on the third place in the GT class the team earned at last year’s event perhaps the biggest news is the man stepping out of the Brumos Racing cockpit to fill the position of Grand Marshal for the race (January 26-27).
While Hurley Haywood – five times a winner of the Rolex 24, twice with Brumos Racing – has duties to fulfil outside of the cockpit a quartet of experienced Porsche drivers will crew the car for the weekend.
Leh Keen and Andrew Davis continue as Brumos Racing’s regular drivers for the Rolex Series after taking four podium results in 2012 to finish fifth in the class standings at the end of the season. Davis and Keen also led the team at Daytona in 2012, Davis setting pole position while the duo combined to led 224 laps of total 281 led by #59.
Marc Lieb re-joins the Brumos Racing team having first driven with the squad at the 2011 Rolex 24, when Brumos Racing entered the GT class for the first time. The Porsche works driver looking to continue the progression from fifth in 2011 and third a year ago.
In Haywood’s absence the final man in the team will by Bryan Sellers. The American will swap his regular Team Falken Tire GTE Porsche in the American Le Mans Series for Brumos’ car. As part of the Falken Tires team Sellers has taken three class wins over the past two seasons in the ALMS, as well a second in GT at the 2011 Rolex 24 driving a Porsche for Paul Miller Racing.
