2012 British Formula 3 champion Jack Harvey has been announced as the official driver coach for Sean Walkinshaw Racing (SWR) for the 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship.
The Chipping Norton-based outfit recently announced their decision to re-brand as SWR for next season, based on the legendary TWR brand established by Sean’s late father Tom Walkinshaw.
19 year old Harvey took seven race victories and five other podiums en-route to the F3 title win, success that has seen him earn a drive in the GP3 series for 2013 with Lotus GP.
“Whenever I’ve spoken with the team over the last few weeks it always comes across just how much they want to do the best job possible, everything is very professional,” said Harvey, “I take a lot of pride in the fact SWR has asked me to be part of the team as driver coach and I really am confident we can hit the ground running when the cars are ready and we’re able to go testing.”
“We’re obviously delighted to have a racer of Jack’s quality as our official driver coach, his record speaks for itself and as the British F3 Champion his knowledge and experience will be a massive bonus for any young driver racing with SWR in 2013,” added team principal Ken Page.
