MOMO NGT Motorsport will return to Daytona International Speedway for the 51st Rolex 24 at Daytona next month.
“We are proud to be returning to the Daytona 24 Hours this year and with an exciting driver line-up,” said MOMO co-owner and team driver Henrique Cisneros. “We had some successes last season, including our class victory at Petit Le Mans and numerous podium finishes in the American Le Mans Series. We plan to build on that in 2013 and no better place to start than Daytona.”
Cisneros – also the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge for both 2010 and 2011 – will be joined at Daytona for a second year running by Sean Edwards – a front runner in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup also now a GT endurance racing regular. New for 2013 in the line-up is one of Edwards’ Supercup rivals in Kuba Giermaziak. The Pole will be returning to the NGT Motorsport fold, having been part of the team that won the GTC class at Road Atlanta last October. Only Edwards and Giermaziak will drive in the ‘Roar Before The 24’ official test at Daytona (January 4-6).
The line-up for the race (January 26-27) is completed by Porsche factory driver Patrick Pilet who will make his third Rolex 24 start in the GT class. Pilet, who graduated to Porsche’s factory stable after one make success with the marque in France, was also a class winner at Petit Le Mans, clinching the LMGTE Am title of the European Le Mans Series in 2012 with IMSA Performance Matmut.
