Hector Hurst will make his Formula 3 category debut this season after announcing a move into the Euro F3 Open.
Hurst raced in the now-defunct FIA Formula Two Championship last season, taking a best finish of seventh on his way to a top ten championship finish. The 20 year old made his car racing debut in the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship in 2011.
Hurst will run a Dallara F312 for the Emilio de Villota Motorsport team. The Briton is the fourth driver confirmed at the team, joining Russian Alexey Chuklin, Guatemala’s Andres Saravia and South Korean Chewon In.
Hurst said: “My experience is quire short, just our two-day test in Valencia, so it´s quite difficult to guess where we will be when the season begins. Anyway I´m sure we will finish the year fighting for top-places. I´m looking forward to new season”
Hurst joins fellow Formula Renault BARC graduates Sean Walkinshaw and Cameron Twynham in the series.
