Michael Shank Racing have been returned to full strength for the defence of the Rolex 24 at Daytona following news that Ozz Negri will drive at the race this weekend following recovery from a leg injury sustained while mountain biking.

“I’m really excited to get the news that I’ll be able to drive again in the 24-the idea of not getting to was just too much to think about!” said Negri. “I am not sure how much time I will be driving, we will just have to see how it goes and make a decision. It’s very important to not jeopardize the team’s result. That is the main concern.”

With Negri likely to only take on a limited schedule of stints across the race weekend, which begins with practice sessions on Thursday Marcos Ambrose, who filled in for Negri at the ‘Roar Before the 24’ test earlier this month will remain with the team.

Negri and Ambrose – twice a winner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup – will complete the team alongside Justin Wilson, John Pew and A.J. Allmendinger in the #60 Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype as they aim to repeat the success they had in 2012.
