Wakefield Switches To Clios With Scuderia Vittoria

1 Mins read

Josh Wakefield will compete in the Renault UK Clio Cup this season, making the move over from Ginetta’s to join Scuderia Vittoria.

Wakefield competed in the Ginetta GT Supercup last season, taking three podium finishes before leaving the series just over halfway through, having previously established himself as a front-runner in Trofeo Abarth in 2010 and the British GT4 Championship in 2011.

“To be racing in the Clio Cup with Scuderia Vittoria is brilliant,” said Wakefield. “The team has a proven track record in this championship and I hope to add to their past successes. I’m really looking forward to pre-season testing now, and I think that we’ll be in good shape come Brands Hatch in March.”

Scuderia Vittoria Director Danny Buxton added: “Josh has had a couple of testing years in different formulas, but has been able to show that he possesses great pace. I’m really pleased to be able to bring him back to front-wheel drive cars and I’m confident that he will be able to perform extremely well in 2013.”
