Solid Start To 2013 For Forward Racing Quartet

2 Mins read

NGM Mobile Forward Racing’s quartet of Moto2 riders were generally satisfied with their first three days of testing ahead of the 2013 season at Valencia. New signing Simone Corsi was the quickest of the four, finishing the week ninth fastest, and is looking forward to unlocking some of the potential from the Speed Up chassis in the coming weeks.

“I’m really happy about how we started these three days of testing. We’ve worked hard with the team for try to understand what is our situation and where we have to intervene. Let’s see at Jerez what is our true potential, sure we have to work, but I know we will do large steps”.

Ricard Cardus was next up in sixteenth as he set about trying to understand the nuances of the new bike and expects pretty of improvements to be made before the season opener in Qatar.

“We have been able to take good advantage of these three days of testing. We didn’t focus on the laps-time, our goal was to adapt to the bike and understand what is good for us and what isn’t. We wanted to do as many laps as possible and improve as much as possible during these three days. Hope to continue to improve at Jerez.”

Mattia Pasini agrees with his teammates that the best is still to come from the Speed Up, starting with the next test at Jerez beginning on Tuesday.

“I’m really happy about how we started these three days of testing. We’ve worked hard with the team to try to understand which is our situation and where we have to improve. We will see at Jerez what our true potential is, we know we still have work to do but we also know that we have the potential to do perform well”.

Despite entering his second year with the team, Alex De Angelis also had to get used to new machinery and didn’t enjoy a trouble free start.

“We used the first day just to get familiarized with the bike, while on the following days we wanted to do as many laps as possible to find more feeling with the front of the bike, since it has been the once things that we have had trouble with. We tested different configurations but we have yet to find the one that give me the confidence to push.”
