The Corvette takes centre stage at Laguna Seca's historic festival

553 historic racing cars have been accepted for the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with an option for the Governing Committee to accept an additional 17 cars to the grid.

The Chevrolet Corvette will take centre stage, celebrating its 60th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the Corvette Grand Sport. 58 race proven, authentic Corvettes have been accepted, including three Grand Sports, of which only five were ever constructed. Corvettes from every era will be on display, right up to the 2014 Corvette Stingray.

“It has become an extremely challenging task for our Governing Committee to select a maximum of 550 cars from nearly 800 entry requests, but the committee has done a remarkable job,” said CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Gill Campbell. “The quality of the cars and the way their owners prepare and present them will assuredly delight guests.”

The event will see historic racing cars from almost every era with exhibits ranging from a 1911 National 40, up to a 1992 Maxda RX-7 92P. Famous names on display include Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, McLaren, Aston Martin and Porsche.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion highlights the Monterey Classic Car Week along with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, attracting fans from around the world to celebrate the history of motoring and motorsport.
