Touring Car – Tohill Struggles To Victory in Round 1 at Lydden Hill

After all the speculation around a possible step up to supercars Derek Tohill managed to dismiss all the mechanical gremlins that he suffered on the first day he was languishing in 7th place overnight but fought back strongly with some solid driving keeping Robin Larsson at bay first in the semi final and then again in the final to finish on the top step with Robin Larsson in the second spot and the seasoned campaigner Roman Castoral in third place.

David Norgaard started the final on pole but due to a broken clutch didn’t make it off the line at the start.

Belgian favorite Koen Pauwels who was right at the top on the time sheets overnight couldn’t keep his momentum going on the second day. Daniel Lundh spectacularly crashed out in the second semi final causing a restart after coming off worse during confusion at the first corner.
