Bamboo Engineering announced on Thursday that their final driver in the 2013 GP3 Series will be Lewis Williamson. The young Scot completes Bamboo Engineering’s driver line-up alongside Melville McKee and Carmen Jorda.

Williamson drove for Bamboo in the official GP3 Series tests in both Estoril and Barcelona, setting strong times in both events. Barcelona saw Williamson show top 3 pace in some torrid weather and Estoril saw Williamson set the fastest time outright on the second day of testing clearly showing his pace and potential.

Williamson commented: “I’ve been involved in testing with Bamboo for all the sessions both in and out of the car and am relieved to be on the grid this season, plus it’s exciting signing at the last minute. Bamboo have given me a platform from which I have had some great testing results so I’m excited to race next week in, Catalunya. Bamboo are a professional outfit and I think we’re going to work very well together.”
