For Mark Wania a return to the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid this weekend isn’t just an opportunity to test himself against one of the world’s greatest tracks, but an opportunity raise funds for a cause all too close to his heart.

Wania’s two-year-old daughter, Lenka, was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and was placed under the care of the doctors and nurses at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital.

“It goes without saying that anyone touched by cancer will know what we are going through,” said Wania, “but there are no words to describe simply how amazing all the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Great Ormond Street have been.”

“This world class hospital would not exist without your donations, so all we hope is our JustGiving page can raise a little to help them continue to help others, and our brave little girl, through the good times and the bad.”

In an effort to raise all-important finds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSHCC) on his first race outing since last year’s season finale Wania’s Ginetta G20, supported by Academy Motorsport, will carry stickers raising awareness of the charity. Many more of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge grid – include all the Academy Motorsport and Optimum Motorsport entries – will also be carrying the stickers showing their own support for the cause.

Anyone who wishes to donate to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity can do so via Mark’s JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/thebravestlittlegirl.
