Scuderia Vittoria’s Danny Buxton has hailed the KX Akademy driver development programme after former recruit Mike Bushell’s debut in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill.
Buxton’s outfit run the KX Akademy members that participate in the Renault UK Clio Cup, with Bushell, Ant Whorton-Eales and Stefan Hodgetts running with the bursary programme’s backing this season.
Bushell joined Scuderia Vittoria’s KX Akademy ranks in June for a three-event spell, racing at Oulton Park, Croft and Snetterton, before joining the BTCC grid in IP Tech Race Engineering’s NGTC-spec Chevrolet Cruze in Scotland.
“Scuderia Vittoria was delighted to welcome Mike Bushell aboard for what has been an exciting phase in the KX Akademy,” said Scuderia Vittoria Director, Danny Buxton. “It was a great chance for him to demonstrate his ability, and it’s a testament to the effectiveness of the KX Akademy that Mike has had the chance to race in the BTCC.”
