David Pittard is hoping to push himself in to pole position in the points table as the Ginetta GT5 Challenge blasts into Brands Hatch.
Currently third in the championship following a less than brilliant showing at the last round supporting the Spa 24 hours, the 21 year old is hoping that he can close up the 45 point gap to second placed Will Burns.
The Hertfordshire racer said: “I haven’t had the chance to race on the Brands Hatch GP circuit, so am really looking forward to driving what is regarded as one of the best circuits in the UK and the World.
“We have managed to secure some additional funding to allow us to complete a full days testing on the circuit before race day, which is really great news. Previously pre-race testing was something we only managed to take part in for the first two meetings of the year!”
Indeed with the forecast set for rain sporadically throughout the weekend – it will be the first time these Ginetta’s will have raced in anything but sunshine all season meaning anything could happen and those that are prepared for the weather could take the spoils.
“After a disappointing round at Spa, and with all the hard work the Nationwide Driver Supply team have put in since, I am looking to bounce back with 3 good results, putting the pressure back on the Championship leaders.” Added David.
With only the Brands round and the Donnington Park in October left to go this season – it is important for him to close the gap to points leader Brad Bailey who currently has 59 points over Prittard.
