Tickets for the 2014 Silverstone Classic have gone on sale following a record-breaking event in 2013, cementing the event as the World’s Biggest Classic Motor Racing Festival.
The 2013 Silverstone Classic boasted a mammoth 1113 cars spanning eight decades of motor sport history for 24 memorable encounters. As well as familiar machinery, familiar faces were seen in action, including FIA World Touring Car Champions Andy Priaulx and Rob Huff, Le Mans winner Jackie Oliver and Touring Car aces Tim Harvey and Steve Soper.
The Classic not only set records on track, with more than 9000 classic cars on display, culminating in an unprecedented parade of 1208 Porsche 911s to celebrate the iconic sportscar’s 50th anniversary, shattering the original goal of 911 models.
2013 also saw a record crowd for the Silverstone Classic, with over 90,000 people sampling a taste of motorsport history over the three days, backed up with more than a million more TV viewers watching the highlights on ITV4.
The 2014 Silverstone Classic will mark the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, with the Mustang Owners Club GB selecting the Classic to be the home of the official birthday celebrations.
‘Early bird’ discounts are now available for the 2014 event, available until March 31, saving up to 15% with adult tickets available from £33 plus £1.95 for standard delivery. Further savings are offered for festival goers looking to stay for the full three days.
Members of car clubs and organisations registered with the Silverstone Classic will also receive a special code offering them two adult tickets, plus the chance to add their car to the infield displays, from just £39. Registration for the clubs and organisations is free.
“The Silverstone Classic is a real success story; every year it just gets even bigger and even better,” said Event Director, Nick Wigley. “We have some great plans for next summer with yet more blockbuster grids and more great celebrations including a special birthday party for the Ford Mustang. It’s going to be yet another record breaker and we are offering great value deals for both car club members and those taking the chance to buy ‘early bird’ tickets.”
More announcements, promising to be exciting and ambitious, are planned for the coming months.
