2014 Metzeler Calendar Honours Road Racing Heritage

1 Mins read

The 2014 Metzeler Calendar centres around the theme ‘the road to legend’, an is accompanied by the mini documentary ‘The Road to Legend: A Story About Road Racing’.

The Metzeler Classics calendar started in 1994, containing black and white images that trace the golden years of international motorcycling. 2014 will see the Metzeler Classic feature the world of Road Racing for the first time.

Throughout the 2013 season, Metzeler closely followed a list of top names including Tyco Suzuki‘s Guy Martin and Josh Brookes, Dean Harrison and Alistair Seeley of RC Express with MSS Performance and Martin Jessopp, as well as Michael Rutter‘s exploits at the Macau Grand Prix to name but a few.

Starting at the launch of the project at London’s Ace Cafe in March 2013, the Metzeler Calendar charts the highs, lows and everything in between at races such as the North West 200, Ulster Grand Prix, Macau Grand Prix and, of course, the Isle of Man TT.

As part of this year’s launch of the 2014 calendar, Metzeler decided to accompany the calendar with a mini documentary. The documentary follows the Metzeler supported riders through their 2013 campaign , including interviews with riders and fans, on track action and a glimpse at life in a road racing paddock.

Using a five colour printing process, the 50x52cm calendar is printed at the highest trade standards on extremely high quality paper, with both front and rear covers printed on glossy paper. Only 6000 copies of the 2014 calendar will be circulated worldwide, with 19 subjects printed on both front and rear with descriptions in English and German.
