Buxton Goes Solo With SV Racing

1 Mins read

Former Renault UK Clio Cup champion Danny Buxton has taken sole charge of Scuderia Vittoria, entering the new season under a new SV Racing banner.

Scuderia Vittoria was set up by Tom Ferrier, Piers Masarati and Buxton back in 2010, with the change coming as the former two move on to other projects within motorsport.

Buxton will run the team from a new base in Wettenhall, Cheshire, just three miles from Oulton Park, with campaigns in the Renault UK Clio Cup and Michelin Clio Cup Series planned for 2014.

“It’s the perfect time to launch a new brand and I’m thrilled to stand alone at the helm of SV Racing at the beginning of a fantastic and exciting new chapter,” said Buxton. “This is a completely fresh start and I want to create a more streamlined and focused operation, as well as a recognisable name that both fans and drivers can relate to with SVR.

“I hope to achieve this with a strong presence on the Clio grids in 2014 and, having added a few quality engineers and mechanics to the already talented technical team, I have every confidence moving forwards. It’s an incredibly exciting time and there will potentially be one or two more surprises before the start of the season!”
