Mailer And Cardoso Enter Juniors With Hillspeed

1 Mins read

Harry Mailer and Pedro Cardoso have become the latest additions to the 2014 Ginetta Junior Championship grid, both signing deals with category front-runners Hillspeed.

Mailer enters the fray straight from karting, the 14 year old having picked up a number of titles over the years including Camberley Kart Club Champion (2011), Comer Cadet Karting Champion (2012) and Forest Edge Comer Cadet Champion (2012).

The Sussex-based racer is aiming for a top ten championship finish in his maiden campaign.

“The Ginetta Junior Championship offers a level playing field for those drivers making the move from karting into cars. The results are based on the drivers ability rather than how much money they have, which is what attracted me to the Championship,” said Mailer.

Cardoso meanwhile will make history as the first Brazilian racer to compete in the Ginetta Junior Championship. The 14 year old is one of South America’s premier young racing talents, having won the Sao Paolo State Championship last season, as well as the prestigious Sao Paolo Karting Cup for the third successive year.

“This is a very important moment for my career and I believe Hillspeed will help me improve a lot throughout the year. It’s a very accomplished top team so I am in the best company I could be,” commented Cardoso.

“I was very happy when I tested with the team in December and I believe I can deliver good results, although I know we will need to work hard together. This [Ginetta Junior] is a great series, as well as a great team, and I am very excited to start working with all the guys at Hillspeed.”
