George Gamble made it three different winners in three races to start the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Championship season.
Gamble took the lead on the opening as the front trio – he, Ollie Chadwick and Gary Simms – broke away. With five seconds between them and Stewart Linn in fourth after just three laps it appeared as though the battle for the lead would be a three way affair for the duration of the race.
However, Simms retired from the race leaving Gamble and Chadwick as a duo up front and as Gamble edged away to take victory by 1.3 seconds at the end of 11 laps.
Linn fell away to more than 14 seconds behind the lead fight, but still picked up the final podium place ahead of Mark Davies and Dennis Strandberg, each completing solid a day of solid results in the championship.
Rob Gaffney, Callum Pointon, Matthew Flowers, Nick Zapolski and Will Moore rounded out the top ten.
While Gamble’s win came after Simms’ and Chadwick’s earlier victories Alex Preston completed a similar succession of different winners in the G20 class, leading home race two winner Stuart Pearson by four seconds with Brian Murphy – who had started the day with a win – completing the class podium.
