2 Mins read

Japanese driver Kimiya Sato ended the first practice session around the streets of Marrakech in Morocco on top as the 2014 Auto GP World Series roared into action. The Euronova driver, who is only running a partial campaign as he has GP2 commitments, set a best of 1:31.115s to beat Zele Racing’s Italian driver Sergio Campana into second by half a second.

The driver/team owner of the Ibiza Racing Team, Giuseppe Cipriani, finished third fastest in his first session for almost a year, just ahead of the second Zele Racing entry of Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss, while the highest rookie placing went to Belgian Sam Dejonghe in fifth for the Virtuosi UK outfit.

The top ten was rounded out by Markus Pommer and Michela Cerruti for Super Nova International, Eurotech’s Kevin Giovesi, and the two other Virtuosi UK entries of Andrea Roda and Richard Gonda.
