Mitchell: “It’d Be Nice To Match Harry’s Streak”

1 Mins read

2014 Ginetta Junior Championship points leader Jack Mitchell hopes he can emulate the success of reigning champion Harry Woodhead, after posting his third win in the first three races of the season at Donington Park yesterday (19th April).

Last year, Woodhead went on a sensational ten race winning streak over the first half of the season en-route to the championship title, and Mitchell admits the thought of matching or breaking that winning run has crossed his mind.

Mitchell led the opening race of the Donington weekend from start-to-finish to card his third win, having dominated the opening weekend at Brands Hatch three weeks ago.

While matching, or beating, Woodhead’s streak is a dream goal, the JHR Developments ace is purely focused on winning as many races as possible to extend his lead at the top of the championship standings.

It would be very nice to match Harry’s winning streak from last year, but really for us it’ll just be good to see how many wins we can get this season,” Mitchell told TCF. “I just need to keep getting the points, get as many maximum scores as possible, and if I do, it’s all looking good.”
