James Greenway made it 2 wins in 2 for AWM/Warranty Direct at Rockingham, as teammate and championship leader hit trouble.

Greenway made a good start from 3rd on the grid to lead into the first corner from David Sutton and David Fairbrother, with the front row pairing of Philip House and Tom Barley both enduring torrid starts and 4th place man Stefan Di Resta outbraking himself into the Deene hairpin.

House soon began to climb to the front again, taking Di Resta for 5th and closing on the pack in front, before retiring on lap 6 with a mechanical problem.

At the front was a spectacular duel between Greenway, Sutton, Fairbrother and later Barley for the lead, with each driver leading the race at individual points in search of their respective first wins of the season.

Despite some brilliant overtaking and defensive displays from the quadruple of Scirocco drivers though, it was Greenway who took the checkered flag by 0.350 seconds from Team Hard‘s Barley and SlideSports driver Sutton.

Behind the leading trio finished Josh Caygill, Stewart Lines, and a charging Joe Fulbrook from last on the grid after retiring from race one earlier today.

Despite a win for Greenway, the race was bitter sweet for AWM/Warranty Racing, with title leader Aaron Mason eventually crawling across the line in 28th after slowing with just 5 laps to go, leaving the championship wide open going into the next round at Silverstone later this month.
