Nick Firth has declared himself happy with the start to his Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge career following another strong showing at Silverstone last weekend.

The Optimum Motorsport driver who made his debut in the second round of the series at Rockingham, made it 5 top ten finishes from a possible 6 races so far in 2014, after an impressive display of consistency  yielded a 10th place finish in race one around the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, and a lights-to-flag 8th position in the second race on Sunday morning.

And despite finishing just outside the top 10 in race three of the weekend, Firth declared himself content with how his season has begun. ““The weekend as a whole went really well. If you spoke to me 2 months ago and said I’d be consistently top 10 in my debut season, I wouldn’t have believed it.

“I was pleased with the results for race 1 and 2, but race 3 I had a couple of spins on the last lap and threw away all of my hard work.

“Overall I think it’s been a successful weekend. It’s only my second race so being around the top 10 is pretty good.”

Firth’s attentions and that of teammates Finley Rafcliffe, Will Moore and Andrew Marshall, now turn to the next round of the series at the Norfolk-based Snetterton Circuit, on June 2122.
