Stilp Takes First Clio Cup Win

1 Mins read

Jordan Stilp took his first ever win in round ten of the Renault UK Clio Cup at Croft.

Stilp led from start to finish after holding off advances from Ash Hand going into turn one.

Stilp controlled the race from the front as he maintained a sufficient gap that never looked in danger to SV Racing with KX driver Hand.

Ant Whorton-Eales rounded off the podium after fending off team-mate and championship leader Josh Cook who finished fourth.

There were a number of incidents on lap one as drivers jostled for position.

The WDE Motorsport car of Paul Rivett made contact with James Colburn going into turn one. Colburn, who started fifth, spun due to the contact and fell to the back of the field.

The incident between Rivett and Colburn was taken to the stewards for further investigation.

Colburn did make up a few places though, most notably making a bold move on Mark Howard coming out of tower on the final lap to finish tenth.

20Ten Racing driver Craig Milner also found himself pointing the wrong way. Going into the complex Milner lost the back end of the car and spun, leaving him in last place a long way off the rest of the field.

Devon Modell made a bold move stick going into the hairpin on the final lap. Modell jumped up the inside of Mike Bushell to finish sixth.
